1. Agreement to These Terms
These Terms of Service ("Terms") are a legally binding agreement between you and Mind Chat AI, 10 W 37th St, New York, NY 10018, United States ("Mind Chat AI", "we", "us", "our"), the operator of PeerTalkID.
By accessing or using PeerTalkID at id.peertalk.chat (the "Service"), or by integrating PeerTalkID into your platform, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service. These Terms apply to individuals who use PeerTalkID to authenticate on PeerTalk or third-party platforms, and to developers who integrate PeerTalkID into their applications.
2. Description of Service
PeerTalkID is a privacy-first anonymous authentication service. The Service allows users to create and maintain a persistent anonymous digital identity using a 12-word BIP-39 passphrase, without providing any personal information such as an email address, phone number, or legal name.
What the Service provides
- Generation of a unique anonymous identity derived from a 12-word passphrase
- Authentication tokens (JWT) that can be verified by third-party platforms
- Session management including the ability to log out from all devices
- Premium status verification for connected PeerTalk services
- An SDK and API for developers to integrate PeerTalkID authentication
What the Service does not provide
- Password recovery or account recovery of any kind
- Storage of personal information
- Customer support that can verify or reset your identity
3. Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years old to use the Service. You must also be of legal age to form a binding contract in your place of residence, or have the consent of a parent or legal guardian who agrees to these Terms on your behalf.
4. Your Account & 12-Word Passphrase
You are solely responsible for
- Storing your 12-word passphrase securely (we recommend writing it on paper and storing it in a safe place)
- Never sharing your 12-word passphrase with anyone, including our staff
- Any and all activity that occurs under your PeerTalkID account
- Understanding that losing your passphrase means permanent loss of access to your account
Your passphrase and how it works
Your 12 words are used to derive an Ed25519 cryptographic keypair entirely within your browser. Only a cryptographic proof (signature) is sent to our servers — your actual words never leave your device. The server stores only a SHA-256 hash of your derived public key, which cannot be reversed to reveal your 12 words.
Because we have zero knowledge of your passphrase, we cannot help you recover access to your account if you lose your 12 words. This is by design and is the foundation of our privacy model.
5. Privacy & Data
PeerTalkID is built around collecting the absolute minimum data necessary to provide the Service. Our full Privacy Policy is available at id.peertalk.chat/privacy.
What we store
- A SHA-256 hash of your public key (cannot be reversed)
- Session identifiers and their expiration timestamps
- Refresh token identifiers (not the tokens themselves)
- One-time nullifiers to prevent replay attacks
- Premium status linked to your anonymous account ID
What we never store
- Your 12-word passphrase
- Your IP address
- Your email address, name, or any personal identifiers
- Device fingerprints or user agent strings
- Location data of any kind
What third-party platforms receive
When you authenticate on a third-party platform using PeerTalkID, that platform receives only your anonymous accountId (a UUID) and your premium status (boolean). No name, no avatar, no personal data is ever transmitted.
6. Developer Integration
If you integrate PeerTalkID into your platform ("Developer"), you agree to the following additional terms:
Permitted use
- Using the PeerTalkID API and SDK to authenticate users on your platform
- Verifying PeerTalkID tokens via the
/api/verifyendpoint - Using the PeerTalkID button and SDK in commercial and non-commercial projects
Prohibited use
- Using PeerTalkID to build a competing anonymous authentication service for commercial purposes (see section 10)
- Attempting to correlate or de-anonymize PeerTalkID users
- Storing PeerTalkID tokens longer than necessary for session management
- Misrepresenting PeerTalkID's capabilities or privacy guarantees to your users
Developer responsibilities
Developers are responsible for clearly informing their users that PeerTalkID is being used for authentication and for complying with all privacy laws that apply to them. You are an independent operator, not an agent or partner of Mind Chat AI. Integration documentation is available at id.peertalk.chat/developers.
7. Acceptable Use
You may not use PeerTalkID to:
- Engage in any illegal activity or facilitate illegal activities, including fraud or scams
- Attempt to circumvent, reverse-engineer, or compromise the security of the Service
- Create multiple accounts for the purpose of abusing any platform that uses PeerTalkID
- Use automated means to create large numbers of PeerTalkID accounts
- Interfere with or disrupt the integrity or performance of the Service
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Service or its systems
We may revoke access to accounts that violate these Terms. Because we do not store personal data, enforcement is limited to blocking specific account hashes.
8. Your Content & Copyright Complaints
You retain ownership of any content you submit through the Service, such as display name preferences. You grant Mind Chat AI a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to store and display that content solely to operate the Service. Content posted in PeerTalk chat is governed by the PeerTalk Terms of Service.
To report alleged copyright infringement under the U.S. Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA), follow the notice procedure in the PeerTalk Terms of Service and send your notice to contact@peertalk.chat.
9. Paid Features
Premium status on PeerTalkID is linked to a PeerTalk Premium subscription offered through peertalk.chat. Paid features are currently unavailable; when offered, their terms will be shown at checkout and are subject to the PeerTalk Terms of Service.
PeerTalkID itself is free to use for authentication. Premium status only affects optional features within connected PeerTalk services and does not restrict your ability to use PeerTalkID for authentication.
10. Proprietary Software & Intellectual Property
PeerTalkID is proprietary software owned by Mind Chat AI. All rights reserved. Documentation, SDK downloads and license information are available at id.peertalk.chat/developers.
- You may use the public PeerTalkID API and SDK to integrate login into your own website or application

- Any damages arising from unauthorized access to your account
- Any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary or punitive damages
- Any loss of data, revenue, or profits arising from use of the Service
Our total liability for any claim arising out of or related to the Service will not exceed the greater of the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim or US$100. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations, so some of the above may not apply to you.
13. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify, defend and hold harmless Mind Chat AI and its affiliates, officers, employees and agents from any claims, damages, losses and costs (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising from your use of the Service, your integration of PeerTalkID, or your violation of these Terms or of any law or third-party right.

We may suspend or terminate access to the Service for accounts that violate these Terms. Given our privacy model, such actions are limited to blocking specific account identifiers.
We may discontinue the Service at any time with reasonable notice. In such an event, we will provide at least 90 days notice via the PeerTalkID website.
15. Governing Law & Venue
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of New York, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute arising out of or related to these Terms or the Service will be brought exclusively in the state or federal courts located in New York County, New York, and you and we consent to the personal jurisdiction of those courts.
Nothing in these Terms affects any mandatory consumer protection rights you have under the laws of your country of residence.
16. Changes to Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify users of material changes by updating the "Last updated" date at the top of this page and, where possible, by posting a notice on the PeerTalkID website. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the new Terms. If any provision is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions stay in effect.
